Zonal Quiz Competition Organized at Government College Ropar

Rupnagar, March 10, 2026 — A Zonal Quiz Competition 2026 was organized at Government College Ropar by the Department of Geography under the guidance of the Association of Punjab Geographers and under the leadership of Principal Jatinder Singh Gill.

On this occasion, Prof. Shaminder Kaur from the Department of Geography welcomed the distinguished guests and participants. The guests included Retd. Prof. Rampal Singh, Retd. Prof. Pyara Singh, Prof. Saloni, Prof. Baljinder Kaur, Prof. Lovepreet Kaur, Prof. Gaganpreet Kaur, and Prof. Muhammad Shahbaz, who attended the event along with their respective teams.

Prof. Anu encouraged and motivated the teams that had arrived from different colleges to participate in the competition.

Representing the Association of Punjab Geographers, Retd. Prof. Rampal Singh addressed the students and motivated them to actively participate in such academic competitions.

A total of five teams from different colleges participated in the quiz competition. Government College Derabassi secured the first position, Government Shivalik College Naya Nangal secured the second position, and Government College Ropar secured the third position.

The Vice Principal, Prof. Meena Kumari, blessed and congratulated the students. Members of the Geography Association honored the winning students by presenting them with trophies and certificates. The Runner-up Trophy was awarded to Government College Derabassi.

The role of Quiz Masters was efficiently performed by Prof. Dimple and Prof. Sandeep Kaur. Prof. Sandeep Kaur also presented the vote of thanks to the guests and participants.

Special support in organizing the event was provided by Mr. Ranjit Singh (Senior Lecture Assistant), Mr. Sarabjit Singh (LA), and Mr. Shankar Singh.

Among others present on the occasion were Prof. Anu Sharma, Prof. Hardeep Kaur, Prof. Deepender Singh, Prof. Ajay Kumar, and Prof. Tarnjot Kaur.

Around 100 students from the Department of Geography and attended this competition.
