Eco Club

Promoting Environmental Awareness & Sustainable Living


The Eco Club of Government College, Ropar empowers students to actively participate in meaningful environmental activities and sustainability-oriented projects. It provides a platform through which students engage their families and neighbourhood communities to promote environmentally responsible behaviour.

The Club encourages students to explore environmental concepts beyond the classroom, nurturing eco-conscious attitudes, responsible citizenship, and practical solutions for sustainable living.

Objectives of the Eco Club
  • Promote tree plantation and green campus initiatives.
  • Encourage conservation and judicious use of water resources.
  • Minimize waste generation through segregation, recycling, and reuse.
  • Create awareness about plastic pollution and discourage single-use plastics.
  • Develop skills in observation, survey, analysis, and environmental action.
  • Organize seminars, lectures, debates, and awareness programmes.
  • Promote cleanliness drives and sustainable waste-management practices.
  • Educate students and the public about air, water, and noise pollution.
  • Encourage eco-friendly lifestyle choices and community participation.
  • Organize field visits to environmentally significant sites.
