The Red Ribbon Club (RRC) is a national movement initiated by the Government of India in schools and colleges to create awareness about HIV/AIDS, drug abuse prevention, and healthy lifestyle practices among youth.
The Red Ribbon symbol represents both the fight against HIV/AIDS and substance abuse. The initiative aims to instil compassion, social responsibility, and a spirit of voluntary service, especially through regular voluntary blood donation.
The Red Ribbon Club of Government College, Rupnagar aims to harness the potential of youth by equipping them with correct information on HIV/AIDS prevention, care, support, and treatment. It also develops students as peer educators to promote positive health behaviour and increase voluntary blood donation.
