Anti-Ragging Cell

“RAGGING IS A COGNIZABLE OFFENCE AND IS BANNED IN ANY FORM INSIDE AND OUTSIDE THE CAMPUS”

Ragging refers to any disorderly conduct, whether by spoken or written words or by actions, that has the effect of teasing, harassing, or handling a student with rudeness. Such acts may cause physical discomfort, psychological harm, fear, shame, or embarrassment, particularly to freshers or junior students, thereby adversely affecting their mental well-being.

As per the judgments of the Honourable Supreme Court of India and the guidelines issued by the University Grants Commission (UGC), Government College, Ropar has constituted an Anti-Ragging Cell to prevent and strictly prohibit ragging in any form.

Zero Tolerance Policy

Government College, Ropar follows a zero tolerance policy towards ragging. Any action that threatens the physical or mental health of a student, disrupts academic activities, or disturbs the peaceful learning environment will attract strict disciplinary action.

Offenders are liable to suspension, cancellation of admission, and other punishments as per institutional rules and UGC regulations.
